HERA

HERA — born Jasmin Siddiqui in Frankfurt in 1981 — is a German-Pakistani painter whose practice is grounded in the traditions of graffiti and street art. Since 2001, she has traveled the world painting large-scale murals, working both solo and as one half of the duo HERAKUT. Her largest outdoor works mark cities across four continents — among them São Paulo, Moscow, Melbourne, Berlin, Kampala, Washington D.C., and Aberdeen — each one a monument to a practice built on movement and scale. Alongside this public presence, her work has entered the museum world with equal force, with exhibitions at the Rogaland Kunstmuseum in Stavanger, the Pera Museum in Istanbul, the Urban Nations Museum in Berlin, the STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam, the MACA Museum in Copenhagen, and Le Petit Palais in Paris.
