MARK JENKINS
Mark Jenkins was born in 1970 in Fairfax, Virginia. An American artist based in Washington, D.C., he has been creating hyper-realistic sculptures out of adhesive tape and various materials since 2003, installing them in public spaces to provoke unexpected encounters.
For him, the street is a stage, and passersby are unwitting actors. His work, described as situationist, macabre, and poetic, has been exhibited at the Centre Pompidou, the Kunsthalle Wien, the Perm Museum of Contemporary Art, the Danysz Gallery in Paris, and in numerous institutions worldwide.
